Internships

Internship Requirements

Weekly Commitment:

College or professional internship candidates are required to commit to two 8-hour shifts per week for 16 hours per week for a minimum total of 200 hours.

Animal Care Interns:

Typically interns must commit to 1 or more weekend shifts. Requirements are flexible depending on the season and volunteer basis. Animal Care Interns will have exposure to both our Avian Nursery and General Triage areas.

Administrative Interns:

These positions allow the applicant to become proficient in professional social media platforms, computer programs, graphic design, general office work, and more! These openings are highly limited and an excellent opportunity for those interested in business administration or non-profit operations.

Age Requirement:

Our state and federal Fish and Wildlife permits limit the use of minors as volunteers within the Wildlife Intake Center. All Animal Care Interns must be at least 18 years of age. Administrative interns must be 16 years of age or older. For inquiries for minors under 16 years of age, please email the volunteer coordinator at volunteer@wildlifecareasssociation.com.

Internship Waiver (REQUIRED):

Please complete the Internship Waiver and bring it with you on your first day, send it digitally to volunteer@wildlifecareasssociation.com, or upload it to the application below.
