Animal Care Interns:
Typically these interns must commit to 1 or more weekend shifts. Animal Care Interns will have exposure to both our Avian Nursery and General Triage areas. This position is ideal for animal science, zoology, pre-vet, and other biological sciences degree paths. Interns will learn daily operations for animal care including diets, triage/medical rehab, cage set up and cleaning, and all aspects involved with wildlife rehabilitation.
This position allows the intern to become proficient in professional social media platforms, computer programs, graphic design, general office work, and more! These openings are highly limited and an excellent opportunity for those interested in business administration or non-profit operations. Excellent matches for creative, innovative, and technologically inclined individuals.
Our state and federal Fish and Wildlife permits limit the use of minors as volunteers within the Wildlife Intake Center. All Animal Care Interns must be at least 18 years of age. Administrative interns must be 16 years of age or older. For inquiries for minors under 16 years of age, please email the volunteer coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
