Weekly Commitment:
College or professional internship candidates are required to commit to two 8-hour shifts per week for 16 hours per week for a minimum total of 200 hours.
Animal Care Interns:
Typically these interns must commit to 1 or more weekend shifts. Animal Care Interns will have exposure to both our Avian Nursery and General Triage areas. This position suits animal science, zoology, pre-vet, and other biological sciences degree paths. Interns will learn daily operations for animal care including diets, triage/medical rehab, cage set up and cleaning, and all aspects involved with wildlife rehabilitation.
Administrative Interns:
This position allows the intern to become proficient in professional social media platforms, computer programs, graphic design, general office work, and more! These openings are highly limited and an excellent opportunity for those interested in business administration or non-profit operations. They are excellent matches for creative, innovative, and technologically inclined individuals.
Age Requirement:
Our state and federal Fish and Wildlife permits limit the use of minors as volunteers within the Wildlife Intake Center. All Animal Care Interns must be at least 18 years old, and administrative interns must be 16 years old or older.
