We DO NOT take domestic animals of any species. For domestic animals, please contact your local animal control agency.

We do not provide a pickup service. We are run by volunteers and rely on the public to bring us the wildlife that they find.

Due to state and federal regulations, members of the public are not allowed beyond the intake area – facility tours are not given.

RESCUE INFORMATION

For information about sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife and rescue information, leave a message on WCA’s hotline at 916-965-9453 and a volunteer will return your call as soon as possible. You can also find rescue information in the Found Animal section of our website.

Place the animal in a box, put on a heating pad in half the box set on low, and place in a safe, quiet area away from drafts, children, pets, or any other loud/distracting noises. Do not give the animal food or water.

NON-RESCUE INFORMATION

DO NOT contact these resources about a sick, injured, or orphaned wild animal you have found.  These resources are for general animal questions only. Please note it may take up to 72 hours to receive a response.

WCA accepts sick, injured, and orphaned bats at our facility and transfers them to Corky with NorCal Bats. If you have found a bat, please contact Corky at (530) 902-1918 before bringing the animal to WCA’s facility.
