Wildlife Care Association (WCA) is a Sacramento-based nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization permitted by state and federal agencies to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife. Founded in 1975 and officially incorporated in 1978, WCA cares for over 7,500 sick, orphaned, and injured animals annually, relying entirely on donations.
With support from volunteers, staff, and local veterinarians, WCA provides medical treatment and releases animals back into the wild once they’re ready. Partnering with public agencies and organizations that lack wildlife care resources, WCA plays a vital role in the community.
A proud member of the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association, WCA continues the legacy of local naturalists who championed its mission decades ago.
